When was the last time you truly slowed down with a friend or loved one? In a world where plans often get rescheduled and time together is squeezed between errands and family responsibilities, sometimes the most meaningful moments come from simply choosing to unwind… together. That’s precisely what happened when my best friend and I decided to book a 90-minute long Duo Japanese head spa experience at Aurah Wellbeing Spa in Prestwick, just south of Glasgow .

We’d both heard whispers about the magic of head spas – those soothing scalp treatments that go far beyond your average shampoo. The BOUTIQUE Spa EXPERIENCE

From the moment we walked into the spa, everything slowed down. The calming scent of essential oils lingered in the air, the lighting was soft and warm, and Carly and Aleesha greeted us with quiet hospitality that made us feel immediately at ease.

Describing the spa as gorgeous would hardly do it justice; it is truly magnificent. Every element seems to have been designed to cultivate a sense of tranquillity. The blend of inviting decor, opulent finishes, and refined elegance creates a sense of retreat into an exquisite sanctuary.

We were led to the head spa room, where adjacent reclining beds awaited us in an elegant, darkened space, accompanied by soft instrumental music playing in the background. Carly explained the process, then stepped out of the room so we could get comfortable on the beds. Our therapists returned with the softest blankets I have ever felt, placed them gently over us, and soon began the treatment. Just before we nestled our heads onto the neck rests, we gave each other a quick smile, then closed our eyes and surrendered to the experience.
